The organising comitee has been set up, an editorial group will be called and potential partners are on their way to consolidate their promises.
The Global Investigative Journalism Conference (22-25 April 2010) is led by an organising comitee which is working hard. The Geneva press Club President Guy Mettan, who has a long experience into organising international Conferences, will take charge of the logistics and contacts with potential partners.
Roland Rossier, Denis Etienne, Magalie Goumaz, Martin Stoll, Thierry Hartmann and Jean-Philippe Ceppi are working to set up an editorial comitee whose task is to draft the 100 panels program of the Conference. We shall invite about 30 colleagues willing to join us for the 4 days conference and above all, organise and moderate panels. Everybody is welcome. The one who complain about the hard times investigative journalism is going through have now a unique opportunity to work for an added valued and quality journalism project.
News coming from the sponsoring front are rather positive, despite the financial crisis. A few of them have confirmed their involvement. Others, for instance Edipresse, has already done a gesture which will allow us to open the first pages of the Conference website, probably around the 27th April, that is a year before the Conference.
We are keeping our roadmap. In October 2009, we should put online the registration forms and provide the first lines to the draft program. We should as well open grants around that time frame.
